Homemade Granola Recipe

Granola is one of those essential snack that I love to have at home, this simple granola makes a perfect companion for Yogurt, great choice for breakfast and snack. Firstly I tend to snack a lot during the day, this means I need to always a variety of snacks at my reach. That being said, I now try to have healthy snack option at home as much as possible.

These home made Granola are crunchy, sweet and flavour packed, they can be easily customised to your preference. You can use the simplest items from your kitchen to make this granola while creating your own toppings.

Normally, I would grab a small pot of granola and yogurt on my way to work from my train station, however this has stopped since I started making mine at home. Now i feel good about knowing what I put In my body and I am also saving some money in the process which is fantastic.

Best to make them using Jumbo rolled oat which you can get from any grocery shop, however for this recipe I used the normal oat as this was what we had at home and the texture is equally great.

Now to make these you will need the following

Ingredient

  1. Oats ( Preferably rolled oats )
  2. Pumpkin seed.
  3. Pecans
  4. Coconut Flakes
  5. 1 tbsp Coconut oil.
  6. cup Coconut Flakes.
  7. cup Honey.
  8. 1 cup Maple Syrup.
  9. Salt.
  10. Cinnamon.
  11. Designated Coconut.

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 170 and line your baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix oats, pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes, cinnamon and stir together.
  3. Using a microwaveable bowl, add your honey, maple syrup and coconut oil. Heat for 2 mins, this helps to loosen the liquid and makes combining the ingredients super easy.
  4. Combine wet ingredients with Dry oat mix and combine together until evenly coated.
  5. Pour mixture in a lined baking tray and sprinkle with designated coconut.
  6. Now Bake for 10 mins, bring out of the oven and stir together, then put it back in the oven and bake for another 8 mins. Allow to cool off and store in airtight jar.

  2. This Granola can stay up to 3 weeks or more and still retain its flavours.
